Constitutional and statutory provisions governing a public school system are examined on local, state, and national levels. A thorough review will be made concerning the legal parameters surrounding the local level of the educational system and federal and state guidelines generated to meet the needs of diverse school populations in compliance with current judicial decisions and state legislation. The impact of precedent-setting cases will be a major focus of this course.
K-12 / 67.5 PDPs / 3 Graduate Credits
This course is offered through the Collaborative’s educator licensure program and may be taken either as part of a Licensure Program or as an individual course for PDPs (individual course cost is $620). Graduate Credit through Fitchburg State College is available at additional cost; Master’s Degree and CAGS options are available.

Late Fee
A $50 late fee will be applied for all registrations received after the date noted in each course description. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. A maximum class size will be set for each course. The Collaborative for Educational Services may choose to provide instruction to low enrollment courses through alternate means of course delivery.
