The Collaborative’s educator licensure programs are a quick, practical, rigorous, and cost-effective route to an Initial License in Massachusetts, with courses available at locations throughout the Commonwealth. Intellectually exciting and grounded in experience, Collaborative licensure programs offer courses in both traditional classroom settings and hybrid online formats and can be taken for optional graduate credit through Fitchburg State University. Masters and CAGS programs are also available. These options, along with late afternoon and weekend meeting times, allow you the flexibility to plan your career change or continue the work you are already doing in school.

As part of our commitment to being one of the most affordable licensure programs in the state, we offer our students a convenient payment plan as well as loan opportunities through the UMass Five College Federal Credit Union.
Students in CES licensure programs enjoy a small-school learning environment that promotes accessibility and support. Our instructors are knowledgeable professionals experienced in their fields. Our staff are available to walk you through the licensure process from start to finish.
Join us for free, drop-in information sessions on the first Wednesday of every month from 4:30-5:30 pm at the Center for Educational Leadership (65 Boston Post Road West, Suite 200, Marlboro) or the first Friday of every month* from 4:00 – 5:00 pm at the Collaborative (97 Hawley Street, Northampton), where you can find answers to questions about educator licensure, discuss options, and map out an affordable, practical path to a career in education.
